The Ugly Duckling Story Prop Cards
The children’s classic, The Ugly Duckling has been made into Story Prop Cards. Amongst the cute little ducklings, a larger grey one swims. It feels bulky and clumsy, and is promptly laughed at. Even the mother of the ducks insults it and names it the “ugly duckling”! For one lonely winter it seeks shelter in the reeds. When spring comes, it sees its reflection in the water – and behold, the “ugly duckling” has transformed into a proud and beautiful swan! The Ugly Duckling Kamishibai Story Props, along with the stage, take one of the most well-known and successful children’s stories, and use its familiar images to encourage children to re-tell the story, develop their vocabulary, confidence, and social skills.
